Default 327 Missing

No, I did not have a theft? I have a little miss in the engine, and can't seem to get it out. I just rebuilt the carb, and that helped, but I still have a miss. New plugs, wires and dist parts. Could it have fouled a plug when the carb was running rich?? Its not like its running on 7 cylinders, but just a little miss I can feel when excelerating??

Could be surging from incorrect timing...

You could have a vacuum leak. Are you using points or electronic ignition? If it's the old points distributor it could be wore out, or the dwell might be off along with the timing.

What timing are you running? Initial/total/vacuum?

could be a lean stumble at idle. Try turning air screws on either side of carb in until lightly seated then turn out 1 1/2 turns.

Better yet, get a vacuum gauge. It's the most useful diagnostic tool.
It will tell you just about anything, except what to do about our failing economy.

When my old junk301 started missing, I just took her out on the road and kept my foot in her through each gear until she hit 7,000 rpm which generally cleaned her right out after the wife dogged it around town for a week!

Are you hammering hard enough on her to get her "normalized"??

That is a good one ... In my case its the opposite, my wife hammers on it until it brakes.

Every time I have hammered on my car the idle seems to go down significantly, but I do know some say it clears carbon out and of course cleans the plugs, unless it's pig rich.

I've tried running the s&^% out of her. It is a small miss, no one notices but me. At idle, all is fine. Its when you are crusing about 65 or 70, I can feel a little stumble in her. Sometimes at exceleration, she will sputter. I starting to think it is because she's a women, and just needs more loving?? Seriously, I think its the plugs. Gonna change them and see if it makes any diffrence.

I know on a Q-Jet and Edelbrock that means you are running lean at cruise. Some Q-Jets have an APT(adjustable part throttle) that will assist you in tuning the cruise mixture. I currently have this issue. I am going to back off the APT screw and that should help. Do you have a 2 or 4bbl? What carb are you running? Try richening the mixture at cruise. Use the main metering rods to adjust the mixture at cruise.
