Hook both ends of the cable to the engine and loop it over the lift. That will double the lifting capacity of the cable.

The lift can handle the weight with no problem. But I would think you would have a hard time controlling and manuvering the engine to the right angles for install. If you have the front clip off and setting it straight down on the sub frame i wouldnt worry at all. I had to unload a engine out of the back of my pick up and used my lift as you show but it barely got it high enough. If you dont have a engine hoist they are cheap enough to rent, get with a levler bar and you will be fine.

Sorry I guess I should of said what I was doing here I just needed to get it into the back of my truck. All went well ,next stop dyno.
