Default Ford 9" housing??

Does anyone have any idea which is the best housing to look for to narrow. Also what cars they would come in. I am planning on trying to find one at a salvage yard and would like to know what to look for and a fair price.I was told about $125 or so...Thanks in advance...

The 9" can be found in trucks as early as '63 and can also be found under older model (late 60's to early 70's) Lincoln Continentals. Chances are you won't find one under a Mustang as that was usually the first or second item to be parted out. I think the truck 9" is a better candidate as there are tons of those trucks in salvage yards.

If you're lucky enough to find an old Lincoln Versailles it'll have disc brakes already on it.

That disc brake setup is heavy. Good rearend, tho. They put the 9" in all kinds of applications all the way up to 1986. Depending on what you're doing with the car, you might wanna stay away from the early model rears as they have thinner wall housing tubes. Google 9" rearends and you'll find lots of info on 'em.
