I'm afraid it's time for a clutch replacement!....Or a new tranny, if this is an automatic!

First time poster-manual transmission or automatic transmission?

if its a manual, find a nice stretch of flat road, go about 25mph, and put it in 4th gear and floor the car, if your rpms go up very fast your clutch is slipping

also check the hydraulic fluid, it may have gone low and let air into the clutch master cylinder causing it to slip.

your slave cylinder may have taken a dump also
