Default Anyone use Koul Tools for putting on braided hose ends?

Saw them in an article about hardline and flex hose in the latest Camaro Performers. Just wondering if anyone has used Koul Tools for putting on their hose ends and if they work well.

I used the tool, it works well...80 bucks was kinda steep, it would be better if you could purchase the size you needed only, but I would get it again if i lost this one.

Yeah I'm looking at a couple -4 hoses, they look a lot harder than some of the -10s I have to do.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

As long as you trim the frayed wires before pushing the hose into the collar you should be alright. Put the collar in the vise with padded jaws, line up the hose with the end of the collar, make sure all the s/s wires are in the collar (I use a small screwdriver for this) then slowly twist the hose into the collar.

I sell the koultool but it seems crazy to buy a kit for just a few hoses. If you use duct tape around the hose before cutting it it should keep the fraying to a minimum.

I have probably 12-15 hoses to do. I bought the Summit Racing hose cutter which seemed to be recommended. I too thought about only have a handful of hoses to do, but I might just donate the tools to the local junior college auto program I have been working on my car at (as a thank you for all they have done for me), since I know others could make use of them.

Least that is how I have justified buying more tools!

Meow.
Yep, the cats meow is the Summit braided hose cutter. I paid about $30 for mine. Forget tape. Just size the hose and mark it with a sharpie. Then cut IN PLACE and assemble. If the hose was clean inside before you cut it, then it'll be clean after the cut. One of the great products of hot-rodding. Get one. But you can't have mine. And thanks to the guys here for the tip.

Update:
Yeah I bought the Summit hose cutter, works like a charm. I still tape it to try to minimize any separation (seems like the larger hoses have this problem). I bought the Kool tools, for the small hoses makes it simple starting them. I swear too much otherwise Without them I I think I'd still be there trying to start the -4 hose I made for the radiator overflow tank. I don't think they are needed as much on the larger hoses -10+
