With the 275/40-17 on 17 x 9.5" with 5.5 bs I do get a slight rubbing on the top inside edge of rear drivers tire to inner wheel well when the axle is tilted/angled (going over speed bump at an angle, reversing down steep grade while turning etc...) My 12 bolt wheel mounting surface with discs is the exact same length as a factory 12 bolt with drums wheel mount surface.( rotors are just a little thicker then the drums so when I cut my ends off for pressed on bearings/moser axles I compensated for the added rotor thickness)

17x8 4-7/8 backspace on front and 17x11 5-1/2 backspace on rear. 245/45/17 and 315/35/17 bfg KDs . DSE mini tubbed
All DSE front end, coil over relocation, koni's, DSE UCA/LCA etc. Back is DSE 3" drop leaf w/offset shackle, so basically its lowered 3". No problem with front rubbing, I could pick it up another 1/2 inch but I like the stance.

Finally, after subscribing to this thread FOREVER, I get to post pics of my new tires and wheels!!! :hurray:
Wheels are the brand new Voxx "Old School"
Front: 17 x 8 with 4.75 backspace on Hankook Sport K104 235/45/ZR17
Rear: 17 x 9.5 with 5.5 backspace on Hankook Sport K104 275/40/ZR17

Sizes:
Front: 15X7 with 4" bs and 215/65/R15
Rear: 15X8 with 4.5" bs and 245/60/R15
Style:
Wheels: Chrome corvette/camaro rallye wheels from Coker Tire with '67 caps.
Tires: BFG Radial T/A from Coker Tire
Modifications:
None, has original front suspension, rear monoleaf and 12 bolt rear.
Notes:
Thanks to everyone for the help in selecting tire sizes and backspacing! If I was to reorder I would do it exactly the same. Both front and back sit about 1/2+ inch inside the wheel lip. Coker gave great service and fast shipping. I will be ordering a set of redlines to go with my original steel wheels and covers soon.
