Default 69 camaro rocker are adjustment

Should the lifter/rocker arm adjustment be made with the car running at operating temperature after the initial book adjustment has been made?
Theirs two ways of doing this one is remove rocker covers start engine loosen rocker arm nut untill the lifter ticks slowly tighten nut untill ticking stops then turn 1/2 to 3/4 turn down the other way is to follow a gm service manuel this way you don't start engine note the way i described you will have some oil coming out of the push rod lube hole.

You don't have to adjust them twice. If you followed the book procedure you are done. No need to readjust with the car running. If you did them running, you don't have to shut it off and go by the book. If you have a performance cam I have often found most people will not recommend following the book procedure. EO/IC seems to be standard.
