How do you straighten out the U-bend that is put in the line when shipping? I bought a cheap tube bender off of EBay a while back and just tried to use that and it wasn`t budging that line. I straightened out my brake like with it and it worked fine, but the 3/8 line is tough as concrete

I got it straightened out. Just wasn`t holding my tongue right and putting enough elbow grease into it

Try doing it to 1/2 or 5/8 line, talk about elbow grease then

Ok, now how do you route this darn line. I`m starting to get really frustrated and lazy on this car. Motivation is nearly gone after 7 years of working on this pile of parts. Can anyone post some pics of finished undercarriages please? Do I need to start a new topic?

Should be on the outside framerail of the passanger side, then going towards the rear of the car on the bottom of the floorboards taking a turn when you approach the rear spring pocket, then along the rear frame rail.
I don't have pics yet, but mine is kind of a custom job involving a sumped tank with external electric pump anyways. But I am sure there are plenty who will jump in an post pics. You might try a search as well, I know this topic has been discussed before. |

Maybe someone will chime in as to how different the routing is between the '67 and '69. I know they have different part numbers for the fuel line. My rustbucket '69 is up on stands right now with the original line still in place and I can get some pics up later this morning if it'll help. |

I don`t think there really is a difference between the years on a single feed line. If you could get some detailed pics, then you would be a life saver! Or at least a time saver

I'll try to keep it in order from the engine compartment to the tank. Beginning of the line over the inner fender ![]() ...to the drop down in the frame where it crosses over the top of the frame rail at the passenger footwell ![]() ...comes over to outside of the frame rail just after the body mount flange and runs down the frame rail ![]() ...squiggle in the line at the end of the front frame where it kicks out and runs down the edge of the lip on the body ![]() ...90 degree turn in just ahead of the leaf spring and then 90 degree turn toward rear of car ![]() ...heads up along rear frame rail ![]() ...this is lying on my back, goes back along frame towards tank. You can make out the shock in the corner and the axle to make out the orientation. ![]() ...90 degree turn to run along front of tank, behind mounting strap, and up to sending unit

I think that just might help me get this line installed. It`s been 7 years since I took the old line out and so my memory of how it was originally routed is long gone. I think the repop line is going to need some tweeking to get to fit right. Anyway, thank you very very much for your effort. I owe you a beer or 12

No problem. I just started mine for the first time in seven years a few weeks ago myself....and with the same tank of gas it was parked with.
