sorry for my ignorance, i just fail to pay attention to this issue before.
Ok, so i just finish swapping out the tranny in my LS1 after running the car around the block and having the engine on. Is it normal for oil to pump out thru the tranny dipstick? |

No. Did you overfill it?

well i did a transmission swap on my LS1.
the tranny had no liquid when i installed it and i also put a brand new torque converter. i only put about 1/4 of oil in the torque converter. i had read that i needed to insert 8 quarts of oil which i did. how many quarts should i had put in. i bought a pump and i was thinking of taking out 2 quarts out of the tranny. |

is it gushing out the dipstick tube, or just pushing the tube out and kind of misting the area with oil?
check the vent- it should be on the top of the case somewhere. if that is clear, then check the fluid level with the trans hot and make sure it's not over filled.
