I will need to purchase repro front fenders for my 67. Who makes the best fitting fenders?

They are all basically the same, pretty much stamped at the same places with different names (eg Dynacorn, Goodmark, etc)
NONE of them fit perfect and will need help......... I have been however hearing the "New" made in USA ones are pretty good.........although they better be for $700 a pop. Good luck.

The new CHL stampings are very nice imho. They are the newest tooling. Most of the parts houses are now carrying the CHL fenders and doors. Golden Legion is decent as well, especially their newest 69 quarters.CHL does not make 69 quarters just yet.

Anybody know what brand NPD carries? They are close enough that I can drive up there to buy all my sheet metal...which will save me some coin.

I used Goodmark, which is golden legion repackaged. Both doors, and both fenders. They fit pretty well. Only had to tweak the driver fender a bit.

We have Golden Legion on our racks, and no ill-reports or horror stories with them... But determining actual-source on Taiwanese metal can be a bit like blind-man's-bluff, as often times when new tooling is developed, the major manufacturers will "get together" and agree to lock their competing toolings and defer to the new best tooling. It can be a win-win, in that it helps the manufacturer of the new tooling to pump up their volumes which helps them more-quickly amortize the costs of the new tool set, and it allows others to retire worn tooling but not have the expense of replacing it. There's an awful lot of odd, and you'd think uncomfortable, "marriages of mutual convenience" in Taiwan. What I'm getting at is that I've got an email into Golden Legion to see exactly "what" I've got within my Golden Legion wrappers... |

Update - I got an initial reply from Golden Legion, and they say that to their knowledge the CHL Camaro fender toolings are at least 20 years old. They are not aware of any new tooling, but I am having them re-check... CHL's primary business has historically been Mopar metal (they made many exclusives for Goodmark), along with late-model truck patch panels.
Golden Legion says that there is no such thing as "CHL Camaro doors", they say that CHL "cooperates" with GT/DII (Golden Trust and Dynacorn), so they are selling/wrapping the same doors as Dynacorn and Apex. Which is a perfect example of what I alluded to in my previous post. This is what I know, that I can say in public... There's more to this story, but it's not forum fodder. |

So when you guys say you "tweak" the fenders. What exactly does that mean? I mean where specifically does it need adjustment and how do you adjust it?

I bought the new american made ones. Better gauge of steel and only had one small area on one to rework slightly. Would have been fine for the average car but I am very picky

Got mine from NPD in MI. Not the US made ones, and having issues....not sure how we're going to handle it yet.
