I need to know how long my drive shaft needs to be. I one I have is not correct. The car was a 69 (6). Now it is a 454 (400). The shaft I have seems to be to long. Any help out there. Thanks.

Place slip yoke onto output shaft of transmission, slide in yoke to bottom out against shaft, now pull out yoke 1 -1 1/4 inches.

Take tape measure and with car setting on its own weight on the tires, measure the distance from centerlines of each yoke, front and rear. Give this dimension to driveshaft builder with driveshaft.

After work completed, check for yokes being on the same plane and driveshaft has been balanced.
