Last night I took the car out for a spin and when I was coming to a stop, I heard what I can only describe as a cardboard box dragging under the car. I only hear it from maybe 5mph-0mph on deceleration. It stops as soon as the car stops.
Ring & pinion was set up last week... SB, M21, 12 Bolt 3.73 Any ideas?

Are you sure its not a worn out brake shoes in the rear... Can you raise the rear and spin it by hand to pin point the noise.

Yep, sound like a rear brake to me too. Depress the emergency brake and release it a few times (and I hope you have one), this will usually true up the rear brake form.

I adjusted my rear brakes too much.
Now it sounds like I have piece of cardboard dragging. Drive slowly between some parked cars or up against a building with the windows down, you will hear the cars noises MUCH more. That's what I do and it echo's the noise back to you. I'll bet that noise is there at other speeds too, you just don't hear it till its slow. Same noise I heard with mine. Cardboard. |
