I am trying to put the original air conditioning in a 68 coupe. The car was a factory air car. I also am trying to put power steering in this car. I am having clearance problems. I had a new set of Hedman long tube headers on the car and they cleared the power steering pump fine. Then, I decided to put the factory air back in the car and bought a restored evaporator case, the headers would not clear the evaporator case. So I bought a set of shorty headers off of ebay and they clear the evaporator case fine, but the power steering box doesn't clear the headers. I have a manual steering box and it doesn't look like it will clear the shorty headers either.
Does anyone know of a set of headers that will clear both the evaporator case and the power steering box?

Run the shorty on the A/C side and the long tube on power steering side,LOWL.
There is a thread dealing with headers but nothing concrete for cars with A/C and power steering. The closest anyone has come is tri y headers for A/C , powersteering and floor shift. Still not sure what damage they are doing to their Evaporator box to make it all work! I have been searching the past years for a set that works for A/C ,power steering and floor shift and angle plug heads 67-68 camaros. No one seems to have pictures of this install or details in modification for this application. Im sure they would be ugly if they had. When they make a set that actually fits this application without denting the hell out of ones heat treated headers and melting the evaporator box. I will be first in line to purchase a set for this intended application but it might take another 40 years before someone relizes their is a need for this application. I wont hold my breath... You can always build your own as a last resort! :0
