Default Bottom windshield molding

We are putting car back together to check fit. Replaced dash and don't have holes for brackets that hold windshield molding. Can't find help in any of our books. Searched post, best thing I found there was to take fenders back off to get screws in end brackets. Will have to prime fenders again, have been on and off enough to rub primer off! Can anyone give me some advice on where to find the measurements or tell me how to lay the cowl where it goes, scribe a line on bottom of it and measure up to holes. Anything would be helpful at this point. This is a 69 camaro. Thanks for any help. Terry

I believe if you have your windshield mounted, and have your trim in place with the corner brackets installed, you can evenly space the clips and drill holes.. The clips slide inside the bottom trim, and the trim should also act as your guide.. The spacing from side to side isnt important to the cal...

You dont have to remove the fenders to attach the corner brackets.. All you have to do is install a small bolt head screw and use a wrench, it makes thing much easier..

I taped small spongy things all around my windshield channel they were like 1/4 inch thick i think and could compress under pressure. I then set my windshield as centered on all 3 sides as I could. Installed the little tabs on the bottom to hold the windshield in place. I then installed my top and side moldings and adjusted clips as necessary. Then I was able to install the lower molding and drill its holes. The fenders should stay installed during this. You should probably install your cowl vent panel prior to drilling your holes to check fit. I didnt just got lucky.

The measurements from my vert are in this thread: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showth...=molding+holes

The coupe outer mounting is different, but I have seen info here that says they can be put on with fenders on. I will see if I can find.
