i'm in the planning stages for a TCI TH-350 manual reverse valve body competition transmission. do i need a kickdown for this trans? if i'm not mistaken this is the little cable that connects to the carb linkage?

nope, the only attachment you need to the transmission is the shift cable...no kickdown and no vacuum lines. Youll have fun

Ive left my car in the wrong gear before. At least cars with auto trannys tend not to stall just lug real bad. Nothing worse than trying to show off and your car falls flat on it face because you left it in the wrong gear.

Make sure your shifter is up to snuff! The factory one was really designed for drive and go and an occasional 1-2-3 pull.

Having your left foot on the clutch is a reminder that you don't get with the auto... It's not a big thing but you'll get caught from time to time!!

hurst quarter stick should be up to the task, i think thanks for the advice guys. once i get used to pulling 1-2-3 all the time, i'll be good.
my factory shifter is a column shifter for a glide, so thats gotta fly anyway.

Although not a pleasant thought, but should it ever get stolen, the thief, unfamiliar with such an automatic, would likely think "geez this is gutless off the line" and leave it at the next block.
