Default Removing stickers

I am removing the Yenko stickers on my clone. Anybody know the best way or liquid remover to get the adhesive off once the sticker is off?

Bob,
Try some WD40. It wont hurt the paint and will get most of that type of glue off.

I use Acry-Solv. It will not hurt your paint and new car dealers use it to remove glue or adhesive on new cars. You can get it or the 3m adhesive remover from a automotive paint supply store or Orielly Auto Supply.

Here is a website for the Acry-Solv. I get it in the quart cans.

TRied both. Neither works. This stuff was for a Yenko sticker. Must be high performance.

They make a "thingy" that does it mechanically.

when I went to pick up my new vette in '98, they had stuck this giant dealership sticker on the back of the car. I had told them not too when I bought it a few days before, loudly, but the prep guys did it anyway.

I FREAKED. Started yelling and screaming, in the showroom, causue that's where they had my car.

They took it off. they had a thing in a die grinder, layers of something flat round and soft, matbe an inch thick. I was freaking when they laid that sucker into the paint, but it ate that sticker for lunch, and didn't leave a mark on the car, nor any trace of adhesive, turned that thing to dust and spit it out.

Its all in how you remove the sticker.....heat with a hair dryier, and slowly peel back...
The glue comes away with the sticker, and if you want to keep it, stick it to that backing paper stickers come on or wax paper

Mechanical erasers. Sticker removal is commonplace in collision. And as some may have discovered the glue sometimes balls up on the surface. The mecanical wheels aid the process. The adhesive will come off, even without the wheel, just work it. Done more than my share of decal removal.

If the liquid removers don't work, get a 3M adheasive removal wheel at NAPA or your favorite auto parts store. They cost $15-20.00 and it's a solid urethane wheel that you run on a cordless drill. Essentially it'll just peel the stickers off and leave no real residue.

WD40, denatured alcohol (ask the druggist - its poisonous - kills ants), DuPont Metal Prep, lacquer thinner, (with dampened cloth, not soaked).
