Default '69 on Ebay-- trim tag

Trim tag looks like it was removed, any comments on whether it is a repro tag?

Real trim tag, but those rivets are entirely wrong.

Car's got plenty of issues, with the primary one being it is unlikely to be an SS350 car. NOM, one fuel line, and a 10-bolt with monoleaf shock anchor plates. More likely a 307 or L65 350 car.

Still haven't seen an ebay trim tag that wasn't out of focus. Strange when every other picture is perfect.
Here's original.

Not sure how you can tell the tag is real with that fuzzy picture....
It *could* be real.

Nice car nonetheless.I dont see why sombebody would have gone out of their way to create a bogus x222 car.Just condition alone,if it started life as a green 6 clyinder base model it is worht 20 grand just based on the fact that it is a nice driver quality car that looks real solid underneath.A date code correct 12 bolt, the right rivets on that trim tag and some paint over the tag would have made the car a little more "well rounded" in my opinion, but I still wouldnt kick it out of the garage, nor would I be all ready to jump in the sellers poop about the car being bogus.

Huh? The car in the ebay link is an X11 car; Fred was just showing us that it IS possible to take a clear picture of a trim tag, using his own X22 as an example.

A relatively low percentage of X11 coded cars were SS350 cars; there are clues that the car in question is NOT an SS350. It is advertised as a NOM SS350.

It's also not that solid underneath. Look at the floor at the front of the passenger side; a less that perfect floor pan or toeboard job has been performed on that side, with a very visible seam.

I would not pay $20K for that car...

Ahhh my eyes have been opened! Its always hard to get a good look at the foward floors on a car that is assembled,so my first instinct was to look at the rear seat foortwell area and the area around the rear rails, since these usually rot pretty fast. That floor patch looks like they didnt even try.I have nothing against a welded in patch on driver quality car,but I would prefer butt welds or at least a good flange on the old edge and a flush fit patch.

On thing that almost gets you thinking positive thoughtsd is the fact that the rear itself is incorrect which makes you think that maybe somebody took out the correct rear and put that one in along the way.

Do the VIN sequence and build date on the tag match?

BTW,what would you consider this car to be worth assuming the trim tag was correct?

I can't tell if in one pic if it has a spin on oil filter with a nut for the filter to be removed easier or it has an old style canister like on pre 68.

It's an aftermarket spin-on with the nut on it
The original pre-68 (later on trucks) cannisters had a recessed bottom where the nut fit.

Lots wrong with that car - and what a mess on the underside
That black paint job is terrible - even in pictures
Wonder how bad it is close-up...
How could it not make reserve @ $25K

In my opinion, the date 04C and the body number 307046 on the trim tag are a good match for VIN 124379N628556.
