[z/27 camaro]

i've been told that 3:31 gears for a 12 bolt are hard to get. not a common combination.and very expensive.i was under the impression that you could buy a camaro in 69 with this ratio?

i have 3:73's now and want to go to a higher gear set so i can cruise a bit easier. i was thinking 3;31's would be a good ratio.

does anyone know what is readily availible in this ratio area? 3:42's?? whats a common ratio i should be looking for?

I also have a "Z-27" 69. It came with 3.31 gears.
They seem good for cruisin' although my speedo's broke so I don't know the exact RPM's I'm cruisin' at. Probably about 3200 for 65mph-but just a guess.
Mine is a 4sp and I would like to go even higher (3.08) or get an overdrive. I only drive on the street- the race guys like the lower ratios.

A car with an M-20, 3.31's and stock D-70/14, 25.3" to 25.5" or so diameter tires will run right at 3075 to 3050rpm at 69.9 to 70mph!
