This is the Northern most point of New Zealand, Cape Reinga, this is where the Pacific and Tasman oceans collide

This is 90 mile beach which is actually only 55 mile long

Great photos made me remember my holiday there a few years ago. Went to the Bay of Islands to dive the wreck of the "Rainbow Warrior" great diving.

Very nice! Struggling to make to it to -4 Celsius here (25 Fahrenheit to the rest of us) today, and very windy. Word is that it's goign to get colder by the end of the week. But at least it's really sunny, today.

Like the Capt said above ... Only four more months to go!

Enjoy your summer over the Flip.

Thanks for the pics!

I never made up to the tip of the north island, but I really loved driving through the country. No trash, no billboards, maybe eight miles of freeway in the whole country through Auckland and Wellington. Frickin' awesome!

You can see the sky touch the ground in almost every direction and my favorite drive is from Picton to Greymouth. We pulled off the road for about 20 minutes to explore and not one car passed by. Being from LA, the place is like heaven except you have to drive on the wrong side of the road.

That 90 mile beach?.....thats sandy bay on the east coast????

Bit of useless info 90 mile beach was named back in the days of horses 1800s, a horse would normally travel x miles in a day, so they worked out the distance by that...BUT travelling in sand a horse travels much slower.

Hope you where cruising in the Camaro m8
Might see you at BeachHop this yr?

Nice photos.
One of my Kiwi mates used to live near the Bay of Islands.

It's 39 Deg Celsius (102 deg F) here today.
Too hot to do anything but relax and have a beer (or 2), lucky I am on leave for a couple of weeks.
