i have smogger dished pistons in the 350 4 bolt truck block.if i get vortec heads can i mill them to get 58cc's or less?i'd like to see 10 or even 10.3:1 compression.i know i can get pro topline or dart heads in 49-50 cc chambers but would be happy with vortecs if this is possible.

well i read in earlier posts that vortec heads are already thin so it looks like shaving them is out.
still looking for an easy(cheap)way to get a 58cc head that flows 180 or better.

Not true, Gary at GMPP milled a set down to 50 or so CC and he ran a 200 shot of juice through them and they took it. Look on team chevelle thats where Gary hangs out.

I have a 350 HO and I milled the vortec heads .030. He cc'd one dish at 58cc (originally 64cc). My page shows one night at the track before and several after. The highest trap speed before was about 102.5 and after was 104.1. I also cleaned up bowls which I think only contributed about a third of the gains. I've driven with the heads shaved several thousand miles with no leaking or cracks.
