I ended up going with the 3" Pypes X pipe system and 3" Flowmaster super 40's. Not sure yet if I am going to dump it or run tail pipes as of yet. The quality on the Pypes kit is right there with my old Dr Gas pipe and almost half the price!

I'm building a '69 and was contemplating going with the x-pipe. How does the sound compare to an exhaust system with the standard "blend" tube? Has anyone done any dyno testing or track testing, comparing a blend tube and an x-pipe. Wondering if there are performance gains to be had as well. Thanks

It does not tuck up to tight at all. In fact I may by some s bends so that I could possibly tuck the muff's up a bit higher. The price you pay I guess for 3".
