On the VIN of a 67 Camaro I am looking at - is there a way to determine if it is a true RS? What should the VIN say leter wise if it is a true RS?

The vin tag won't tell you but the trim tag on the firewall will.

Bill the VIN plate will only tell you if it is a V8/6cyl, coupe or convertible. The Trim/Cowl tag has the info. you are looking for on a 67. Post the details here and someone will sort it out for you.

I have the vin # but I will have to go back and look at the car first part of the week and check out the cowl tag. Did not realize there is a difference in the two. Thanks , will post when I get the info.

Bill, the 67 rs will have 3L on the cowl tag. It is down near the bottom under the interior code.
