That's a very good read! We all need to be a little more careful when using such common chemicals, both in the shop, and in the house.

Holy cow, the story is incredible. Amazing how much damage inhaling just a little whiff of that can do. But I agree, as long as I have been around shops and cars I have aways been taught of the toxicity of solvents and especially brake fluid.

The interesting thing is I have a neighbor that has a habit of burning up cloth shop rags that get brake fluid on them in his wood stove inside the shop. Although according to him it takes argon to create that phosgene vapor, I'll pass this on anyway. Thanks!

No not really m8..
you would be amazed what is in those spray cleaning bottles for normal use around the home...and the missus and kids breath in.
I spent many yrs as an industial chemist in the clearers/polishers/disinfectant industry.
The trouble is 1 product is unlikely to do harm, but combine up with other products and BS put in our foods like preservitives and colourings... over a period of time and we are poisoning us are children and their futures.
Ask your grandparents idf overall children seem to be sicker than the where 50yrs ago.

I banned cleaning /polish/disifectants from our home when we got married.
Our 3 children where lucky to have 3 days a yr sick off school per yr, between all of them
I had a cold about 4 yrs ago.
had antibiotics about 4 yrs ago because of a serious spider bit that nearly kiilled me, and before that 1972.
And our kids grew up with fresh eggs and veggies out of the veggie garden.

tetraclhoroetheline is a very strong sovent used in dry cleaning and paint stripers...have a very high SG, is one of the serious clorantated hydrocarbon (halgen) compounds banned because of ozone layer...
Watch out when using any halgens.
