I had to go pick up a retired doctors Mitsubishi today so I rode with him to his house when we got there he said" now don't go hotrodding with this car now" I said no I don't do that if I want to go "hot rodding" I have a car for that. He asked what I had for a car ,I said a 68 Camaro 396. He then asked if was a 375 horse car? I said no it's a 325 horse car , but I had it dyno'ed & it has 360 horse . He said in 1969 he had the choice of any car he wanted as his dad was doctor along with his grandfather so money wasn't a problem he picked a 1969 428 CJ Mustang over a 427 Camaro. He said that was the worst choice he could've made. the only reason he pick the Mustang over the Camaro was that the Camaro was a 150 mile drive to the dealer to pick it up. He then told me that he raced a 427 Chevelle at the dragstrip near Julesburg Colorado & got his butt handed to him.He took the car to the local Ford dealer told him he wasn't driving the car right .He bet the Dealer $50.00 that the Chevelle would win so two weeks later the dealer had one of thier mechanics race the car against the Chevelle again. He won the $50.00. I just thought that was a neat story to share.

That's cool. I still wouldn't mind a '69 428. Not too much to complain about with one of those. My first car was a 70 Mach 1. I wanted a '68 Camaro but the one I was holding out for owned by a 95 yr old lady (original owner) was finally given to her son vs. being sold to me. Had to settle for the Grabber Blue 351 Mach instead. Sold that car and regretted it ever since but then finally got my '68 about 10 yrs. later. Worth the wait. Those stangs are nice cars but having owned both can appreciate the differences/advantages that GM had going for it then (& now in regards to Camaro vs. Mustang saga)
