I was wondering if there was any kind of conversion kits out there to use the disk brakes off of a 98+ f-body on a 1st gen. These brakes are pretty big, and you can get cross drilled rotors relatively cheap. I think this set up would look pretty good and be way cheaper than a bear/brembo setup and look almost as good.

Maybe if knowone makes something like this, I'll have to make my own and start selling it when I get my first gen. I think these brakes would be a great upgrade performance wise.

We have a 2000 Z28 and the front stock brakes are crap. The warp pretty easy. the dealer turned them at 8,000 miles and within 2,000 they were worse. I got 4 power slot rotors and they have been better for 40,000 mostly hiway but still starting to go bad. I think the next set will be Baer Eradispeed.

For my 69 I'm going with the new kit from Baer to be able to fit 15" rallies.

do a search in the "brakes and suspension" forum- it is a relatively easy bolt on, and a couple of people make and sell the brakcet you need to do it.
as for the warping, if you don't make sure the wheel mounting flange is clean and flat- as well as the back of the rotor that seats against it- you will have a bit of a wobble right from the start. you also NEED to tighten the lug nuts evenly and to the proper spec. spend a few bucks on good aftermarket rotors- not the cheapest you can find- and don't ride the brakes all the time to allow heat to build up on the rotor. don't abuse them too much, and you should get good, long life out of any brake setup.
