Anyone know what brand/size GM used for spare tires in 69? I just picked up the original spare that was from my low mileage 1969 camarocar. The previous owner found it and gave it to me. The car was owned by the same person from 69 to 2008. The rally rim is date stamped the exact same as my other four wheels on the car, 9-27-9 XG. However, Im trying to figure out if the tire is the original or not. It is a Firestone, 195/75 R14 I think. It has some yellow markings on the tread where it would touch the ground. It looks pretty old....Thanks for the help.

Post the date code close to the bead. I don'y know how to decode it, but someone here will be able to help. Won't prove it's the original spare, but will at least give you its vintage.

I am not sure what the spare size would be.

Tires on the car for an X11 would normally be E78x14 (standard) or F70x14 (optional).

Not sure when the tire size changeover to the new way of doing numbers took place.

A metric sized tire was not original to a 69 Camaro, period. the tire was replaced at some point.
