Default Bandsaw

I need buy a bandsaw for some small projects. The upcoming project is a jig for my '68vert.

I'm looking at two models
http://www.harborfreight.com/horizon...saw-93762.html

and

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...4&blockType=G4

Anybody have opinions on either of these two? The big difference is HP, a guy at work thought that since there isn't as much drag on these as chop saws that HP doesn't make much of a factor.

I would usually pick the one with more HP, but I don't like buying larger power tools from harbor freight. I'm concerned about the quality, but the HP is a big difference.

thanks

Default Re: Bandsaw

the craftsman is most likely made in the same place as the HF.

either way whatever one you get, you prolly wanna buy quality blades, alot of youtube vids of people using HF saw with starret blades.

I used a chop saw, ya it was a pain in the arse, it always cut tapered and had to grind the burr over it woulda been nice if i had a table built for it so I coulda hade a stop. scribing lines and lining the blade up is a pain.
