Hi all:
I know this is probably a dumb question, but I'm still learning. I am installing my new Blueprint 355 engine. There are two holes in one valve cover and one in the other. I know one hole gets the oil fill cap and one hole gets the PCV valve. Does the other hole just get a breather? Also, does it matter which side of the engine I put the PCV valve on? Thanks for the help.

Usually, the PCV is on the pass side and oil fill is on drvr side. The valve cover feature will determine the cap to run. If there are 'dogs' on the inside, a screw-on breather cap can be used and locked in place.
PCV can go onto the opposite v/cover and the third hole can take an oil fill plug so breathing air will come through the breather on the drvr side and be evaculated by the PCV on the other v/cover.

Thanks for the help!
It all makes sense now. There are no dogs for a screw-in oil cap, so I will use a push-in cap. Thanks again.

I have had my Blueprint 355 for almost 3 years now, great motor! I experimented and tried all possible combination's. One way made engine gas'es escape, another way oil blew oil out the PCV or breather. Below setup also follows the recommended side for the PCV valve.
1) Place oil fill cap in front hole on passenger side. 2) Install breather on back passenger hole. 3) Install PCV valve on driver side hole. Picture of my motor. This is before I installed the PCV on the drivers side, filler cap and breather installed. http://www.camaros.net/showroom/show...0&ppuser=28665 Last edited by 68Camaro68; Oct 25th, 10 at 05:48 PM. Reason: PCV not PVC, PVC is plumbing pipe.... |

Here is a good thread discussing various options for the PCV, check it out: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showth...mopar+breather
