I can't believe what a wealth of information there is on this site. Time to introduce myself. I've had my 69 RS coupe since 1982. Bought it straight out of college and worked on it for a few years. At the time I was into the Herb Adams and Dick Guldstrand schools of thought and I worked at setting it up for the road. New 5 leafs in the back, sway bars front & back with the poly bushings, Konis all around, relocated battery to the trunk, installed the poor man's 4 wheel disks (rear drum rotors and backing plates drilled for ventilation). Then in 1986 my engine blew for the second time and I put it down for a while. A while turned into 22 years.
I did manage to get some work in in the mid 90's when I bought a newZZ4 for it. Coupled it with a new Centerforce clutch and my original M20 4 speed but never got it running. (A new house came along). Put it down again. In late 2008 I decided to go for it again. Well, I'm finally back on the road again. In the past 2 years she's started to look like something once again. It's an X-11 with power steering and power disk brakes up front. It also came with AC, power windows, tilt steering, woodgrain interior and the custom interior, console and the houndstooth seats. I just bought a new rosewood steering wheel for it and jettisoned the large gas gauge for a factory tach with the gas gauge in the center. Along with that I replaced the dash pad. This past year I replaced the carpet and fitted the floor with Dynamat. I also disassembled and rebuilt everything forward of the radiator shroud. The headlights never worked so I just finished a complete rework of the vaccum operated headlights. Removed, stripped and painted everything. All new stuff - including all stainless steel hardware. Works great. The AC never worked either. So,next on the list - fixing the AC. I'm glad I refused those many, many offers people made me to buy it. It's like a piece of me. |

Welcome to TC Steve, sounds like a nice ride you have there. I have a X44 car that needs it AC redone as well. I basically have all the parts ready to go and the compressor was just rebuilt. Just missing one small bracket. I lived in New York a few years back and really enjoyed my time there.

Welcome to Team Camaro Steve.I moved down here to Florida to escape the cold 14 years ago.Long Island is my old stomping ground.I am from Levittown. It brings back memories.I used to get all of my speed goodies from S&K speed. Are they still around?I also used to cruise with my 69 Camaro up to the local car gathering at the Bellmore train station.I have not been back "home" in about 11 years. This is a great site with alot of cool, knowledgable people. They have helped me with my car many times.Welcome aboard!

Welcome Steve.Power windows and A/C are you shure it,s not a cheap model ROLLS ROYCE with a standard transmission for economy reason,s instead of opting for the HYDRA MATIC , slick ride it,s not everyday you see one with window,s and ice.ALEX
