Default Repo 621 Bellhousings

Can someone tell me if the fit / quality of the reproduction 621 bellhousings are any good? I see Classic Ind. has a heavy duty version and regular one so I'm somewhat confused on which one to get and whre to get it from. I see ebay has a bunch listed but I'm not sure of the quality. Thanks for any help,

Clint

Keisler makes a H/D alum/Titanium alloy thats CNC made and supposed to be spot on - I was planning on one of them the regular repop stuff always seems to be poor quality(fenders, quarters door panels and the like - why would a repro bellhousing be any better?)

I've got the Keisler one but haven't really heard anything bad about the reproduction ones. FYI run out of the bellhousing on my Dart block was 0.0035" against a 0.005" maximum recommended but then again...new block and new bellhousing you would assume that core shift would be minimal. It needs to be checked regardless.

Don't quote me but I think the heavy duty 621 that Classic sells is actually the Keisler bellhousing. It does not show "discount exempt" in the catalog so if you can use the 20% off coupon on it that's the way to go.

Got my 621 repro from Classic years back, it was beefy. Dialed in perfect within .003 compared to my old Lakewood .045. I feel just as safe using a billet flywheel without the scatter shield.

I have the heavy duty reproduction 621 bellhousing and it fit/functions well.

The bellhousing is a structural member of the drivetrain and I have seen quite a few original ones that are cracked, so it just makes sense to go with the heavy duty repro one.

Do You? FWIW - It is not allways the flywheel that explodes, watch the vidieo link below to see what happens when a Pressure Plate Explodes.

that was the Clutch Disc that exploded and took the PP with it ...
Disc explosion or failure is a much more common failure than Flywheel or PP.
Specially if a disc is abbused with bad driving habits

What?! You can't do a 6000 RPM clutch drop on an old LS1 factory clutch hooked to a Z06 engine?! Must be those crappy parts GM has made in Mexico.

I remember seeing that video a while back. If a piece of it had hit the guy in the head it might've been an improvement.

I saw that video a while back too. That guy was an idiot.

Scatterproof bellhousing with a block saver plate is the only way to go if you are going to race.
