I need to get some sheet metal and a few other piece of material to fab some parts for my car. I recently moved from CA to MA and don't know of any metal yards that might have remnant material for sale. I knew of several where I used to live but don't know of any north of Boston. Can anyone refer me to a metal yard that sells remnants? I only need a few small pieces so I don't want to buy a whole sheet.

Good question. I've bought small sheets of 18-22 gauge metal from Lowe's or Home Depot but I'd like to know a better source also.

Find a standard hood cheap, lots of flat metal there!
Craigslist 67-69 camaro hood and fender - $100 (amesbury) 67 thru 69 camaro hood has some surface rust on underside. fender is not perfect either. good original parts though not aftermarket. john 339-440-1701 •Location: amesbury •it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 2207198717 Search Tempest is your friend Or freecycle.org

Just go to any metal supply yard or steel fabrication shop, I use several, one of which is large industrial with whom I'm on good rapport, and it's basically self serve depending on the material requirements. Forget H.D, or Lowes, it's far too expensive. Or go to a bodyshop, we never cared if someone wanted to grab a hood or other piece of scrap.

Don't know about your area but good places to ask are local machine shops, fab shops, heating and cooling installers.
