Default Brakes work but pedal is too close to floor

Hey guys, I have power disc front and drum rear brakes. My pedal feels good and the brakes work but the physical distance the brake pedal is from the floor and its very close to the accelerator pedal. The pedal is very close to the floor just doesn't seem there is enough travel in it. I've checked everything, even got a reproduction brake pedal (automatic) and it is the same as mine. The master is connected to the bottom hole. Any suggestions. Maybe wrong master cylinder, I remember I had to get the long extention to go into my master cylinder. I look forward to your help on this.

My first thought is the adjustment of the rear brakes?

That sounds like a possible culprit.

Original discs or conversion?

Disconnect the master cylinder rod from the brake pedal. Then pull up on the pedal and see how far it will go up. It should be up against the rubber stop. Then adjust the rod to the pedal.

Or just look and see if the pedal is touching the rubber stop.

Mike, the pedal is all the way up. Its maxed out on the frame bracket. Its like it can't go up any more but I know its too low. It was a four speed, is the frame bracket different for an automatic maybe on a 68??

Could I have a drum master cylinder, would that matter?
