Default BBC engine swap... Need advice..

Well ordered the 69 frame mounts and 69 motor mounts for the BBC swap into my 68...

Well was looking for some parts and notice that the 69 calls for a different fan shroud...I'm starting to think that the 69 mounts might move the engine into a different position than the 68 BBC setup...Otherwise why would they change the shroud...

Can anyone confirm that the 69 setup puts the motor in the same position as the 68... The only reason I went with the 69 setup was because the motor mounts are beefier and it was recommended ... Dont want to have the shop get into the swap and find out nothing lines up because i used 69 mounts...Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks in advance...

If I'm not mistaken 68 Camaro came with the short shaft water pump and beginning in 69 they changed to the long shaft pump. This probably require for a different shroud. I used the long shaft pump in my BB 68 Camaro and still used the 68 fan shroud without a problem. Let me also say that I believe if you use the 69 frame and engine mounts that you should also be using the long shaft pump. Maybe some of the experts on here can give you some additional information.

69 frame stands moves the motor half an inch to passenger side, and fan shrould
is half the depth or more than a small block shroud, just did the swap in my 69.
Hope this helps.

1967/68 engine stand/motor mount combo and 1969 engine stand/motor mount combo put a BBC in the same location in the car. 1967/68 have tall engine stands and short motor mounts and 1969 have short engine stands and tall motor mounts. Either way the engine will be possitioned 1 inch to the passenger side of the car. The reason that 1969 Camaro's have a different shroud is due to the change to a long water pump for the 1969model year. The long water pump possitions the fan further forward. Consequently, the1969 shroud is shallower than the 67/68 shroud.

I stand corrected, however the taller frame stands move engine to
the passenger side 1" and 1/2" forward.
