Default What a way to start the day!

So I was at work this morning when I get a call from my hysterical wife that our 13 yr old son had just been struck by a car. We both work about 45 mins to an hour from home but luckily our oldest son was home and was there within minutes. By the time we got there he was already at the hospital.
So what happened was he was walking through the crosswalk when a car coming from the opposite direction made a left and hit him. Apparently she had a little dog in the car and was reaching down to pick him up and just kept turning left. My son hit the bumper and then flew up onto the windshield and bounced off to the ground. His face smashed into the windshield. He came out of it pretty well considering the damage to the car (bent the window frame and the whole windshield shattered). I attribute that to his years of Jiu Jitsu training. He says he totally pwnd that car and considers himself the victor.
Was a very scary morning to say the least.

He was really lucky, sounds like he could have broken his neck. All that training does come in handy in more ways than one, glad he seems to be okay.

Bill, hopefully he will be ok. Sometimes it takes a while for injuries to show themself. Sounds like a lucky kid.... and lucky parents as well.

Glad to hear he's okay. I went up and over a car. Took out the windshield and caved in the hood and roof. It wasn't until two weeks later the doctor discovered I had a torn post-medial-collateral ligament in my knee, a torn collar bone ligament and fractured thumb. Be very watchful of any signs of ligament and bone damage for the next couple weeks. It required a MRI to find the torn ligaments. Hopefully he is fine.

WOW, glad he seems to be ok, but keep an eye out for an signs of injury a few weeks down the road. People shouldn't be allowed to drive carrying little dogs like that... They shouldn't even be allowed to OWN little dogs! All they are is annoying!

I cannot begin to explain how much it angers me when i see those stupid ladies driving around with their little dogs in their laps or the front seat. Im very laid back and dont let most things get to me, but this makes my blood boil. What gives someone the right to put my life in danger, because they want to show off their little rat dog and think its cute that its sitting up with them. It is so extremely dangerous, and not to mention completely inconsiderate to the safety of others. If you are stupid enough to drive with a dog like that, your license should get taken no questions asked. Ahhhhh this makes me so angry. Now next time i see that its gonna piss me off so much more because im going to think about this.
Sorry for ranting, the most important thing is that he is ok.
Im usually against suing people..... but in this case there is no excuse for her actions, and it is extremely lucky that things didnt go worse.

I'm glad he's ok. The young ones seem to be made out of rubber.

I got hit by a car when I was 8 and it scared the crap out of my mother, but not me.

I think K-Mart has an underwear sale going on....
