Default Holley carb date code clarification?

I'm confused with the 3-digit vs. 4-digit date codes on Holley carbs.

Is there some way to determine approximately which decade a carb is from besides the stamped code? I have a 3310-2 (4160) with a date of 0235.
The metering block has 5271 and 5275 on it.
The other codes are: 6R2762B 7A.

Is it supposed to be from the 23rd day of 1975\85\95\2005? Or 1972\82\92\2002 fifth week of March?

I'm just curious... if it's prior to 1975 I want to upgrade the power valve backfire protection.

Thumbs up Re: Holley carb date code clarification?

Since it's the 3310-2 series, the date would be 23rd day of 1975
The later "-" series would be dated to later years ...

Alright, I get it. Thanks John.
I didn't know if there was a hard and fast correlation between WHEN the "-" series were introduced and the year.

Talking Re: Holley carb date code clarification?

I've never seen a 'hard-and-fast' correlation chart of them either Joe - just remember when certain "upgrades" (you know, plastic and cheaper pieces ) came into being on that series, as I've bought more than my fare share of 3310's over the years ...

The current dash series is 11 - unless they released a 'newer' -12 while I was typing

I still run a couple of them.
I think I'll have the oldest one cremated with me someday, since it would be a shame to burn-up one of the Camaros

LOL!

I picked this one up cheap and have a renew kit on the way (which was impossible to find locally).
It'll be my first foray into the world of Holley... always been a Qjet lover. I figure it's time to learn something new. By the time I get done with all the mods and upgrades, I oughta have a $600 carb.

Bringing this thread back up for a simple (yeah, right!) question:

If this 3310-2 (4160) is a '75 model as witnessed by the date code, is it 780CFM
Or 750CFM?

My understanding is only the 4150 3310 (3310-1) was a 780cfm Joe.

The 3310 3310-0 and 3310-1 models are 780 cfm, 4150 series, and 3310-2 onwards are 750 cfm, 4160 series. This link may help: http://www.holley.com/data/TechServi...%20Listing.pdf
The date codes on factory Holley carbs were 3-digits up to 1973, and 4 digits thereafter. The 3 digit format was year-month-week, and the 4 digits were julian date (day 001 to 365 of the year) and last digit of year (doesn't clarify which decade though).
