Looking for your thoughts on using a Two-Tone paint scheme on a Pro street 67? I know Two-Tone is more the norm for Pro Touring, but leaning that way for my car. Right now the car is Bright Red w/Black Z stripes.
Thoughts? |

How about a bright red for the front half of the car with yellow/orange flames spreading out from the grille to about 1/3 back on the hood and fenders....
then... on each door, a large bright blue bowtie, tilted on a diagonal towards the rear of the car--that reaches the top and bottom edges of the door shell so it separates the rear color of the car which would be... gloss black. The roof would be gloss black as well and continue down to meet the rear half of the car in gloss black. No chrome on the car. All blacked out. Sport mirrors from a 2nd gen Camaro. Blacked out window trim too. Just my wild and quick idea for ya...

Thanks for the input, little to far out there for me though....
Guess i should rephrase the question ... do u think two-tone paint jobs should be limited to pro-touring cars or have u seen some nice ones on a pro-street? |

Well, first off this is your car so definitely do what you want and don't worry about it.
But since you asked, this is actually a pet peeve of mine. If I see another Chip Foose two tone anything, pro tour, pro street or driver, it will be wayy to soon. The look was cool when it was new and unusual but could possibly be the most overdone paint scheme of our time. I think a single color looks soo much better and if you want to stand out choose an unusaul color. Again, no offense intended, this is just a subject that for some reason stirs me up...

Lol... that's cool. I was just throwing a wild idea out there for ya... Me personally, would never have a two-tone paint job. I also think it's dated. No offense to anyone out there, but just my opinion...
I am all for the original colors with a touch of customization. Just a touch to set it off a bit. By the way, is it Wesley Chapel, FL? If so, you are only 35 minutes away.

Yes! I did just meet you at the Chick Fil-A show two weeks ago. I was with my 12 yr old son admiring your Camaro and talking to you for a few minutes. Pretty cool... Small world huh?
I live in Spring Hill and often go to the Chick Fil-A show and sometimes the Hardees Show up on Rt 50. and US 19 corner. (Winn Dixie)... We LOVED your '67 BB. Next time you are here, you'll have to cruise by my house to see my Camaro.

Canadian Cruzer and jr68; They look nice, but does the scheme work on a tubbed car? I have 31x18.5 tires in the back. One of the color combinations is very similar to yours Jason(Canadian Cruzer) except i was going to add a red stripe on the side where the 2 colors meet or Silver on the top/black on the bottom, but still with the red stripe. Other idea is a candy apple, but i know those are very expensive and i drive mine to a lot of Cruise ins and car shows..no trailer for me.

Hmm... must've been another red '67 then. It had a big block with a 4-speed and was mostly original. The guy was in his 60's I would say... Anyway... cool car. Looking forward to meeting you and your Camaro in person. While you're up here, you can cruise by my house on the way home to check out mine too. It won't be running and driving, but... Talk to you later... Enjoy the nice weather!

I once thought two-tone cars were a result of the car having been in an accident. Rather than paint the whole car again the owner just painted the damaged part of the car with a two-tone paint scheme. Cuts down on labor and cost. And if the car got in a second accident the car might be painted with a tertiary paint scheme. And if the car got into a third accident now its time to repaint the whole car one color. With all the multi-colored race cars does this make sense?
