Default 1969 Camaro of Canada ?

Anybody know how to tell if a 1969 Camaro was originally sold in Canada ? I found some Canadian coins while cleaning underneath the carpet. Thanks in advance.

If the vin number has a letter in the middle it is U.S. built so it is doubtful we would have any info unless it was originally sold in Canada. If the vin has the number 1 it is usually a Canadian built car and we should have info on it.

if it is Canadian built you can get all the docoments from them!

I have a 69 Canadian Camaro that is pretty original. It has a sticker on the Passeneger side inner fender that says that the car was sold in Canada. As far as I know a Canadian Camaro is a US car shipped to Canadain Dealers for sale. Not like the other off shore Yutov's or Australian Camaros. Other than original Canadian documents, which you can still get today if your car is Canadian, there is no difference between American and Canadian Camaros, as far as I know. Do you have the sticker on the fender?

First number of a vin represents the country it was built in for all vehicles, 1=USA, 2=Canada, 3=Mexico
I believe the new generation of camaro are built in Ontario Canada

I'm with Mike....no First Gens (67-9) were built in Canada...they were US (Norwood, OH) built and sold in Canada.

As for the VIN...the first number 1= Chevrolet. Here's more info to decode the rest....

That didn't start until the DOT-mandated 17-digit VIN format became effective for the 1981 model year.

Jesse, before you call George, we might have the car in the database. (No guarantees, but you never know.) What's the VIN?
