Due to a surgery, I last drove my 1967 Camaro in February. I keep it on a Battery Tender Plus under a car cover. So I pulled off the cover yesterday and tried to start her up. She turns over fine but will not start. I have a 1/2 tank of gas. I pumped the accelerator still nothing. I pulled off the air cleaner and manually pushed the throttle...no gas in carb or the smell of gas. So I removed the line into the 4bbl-QJet and had my son crank it over. Gas came out of the line. I replaced the fuel filter. Sill nothing. I used a couple of shots of starting fluid in the QJet and she fired up but stopped right away. I tried this a few more time and the same result. So I am turning to Team Camaro members for help. Thanks in advance.

Float could be stuck. Time to take the top off the Q and see if there's any fuel in the bowl.

Needle & Seat is stuck shut, happens fairly often on carbs that don't get driven for extended periods.
Try GENTLY rapping on the front of the carb at the top of the fuel inlet with a plastic hammer or the back of a heavy screwdriver, sometimes that will be enough to un-stick them. Don't flail on it, just rap on it a few times. If that doesn't free it up, the top of the carb needs to come off. |

x2 x2 float or needle issue. It may be time for a rebuild kit.

X2 on the stuck needle to its seat. If rapping with a rubber hammer doesn't help, might remove fuel line and inject a short burp of compressed air.
Then fill the bowl through the vent tube. You may end up having to pull the carb and clean it of old gasoline. Carb cleaner through every orifice, and new gaskets.

As always the members are a wealth of knowledge. Vintage Musclecar THANKS. I gently used the side of of a plastic screwdriver and tapped the front of the carb Saturday night. Sunday afternoon I pumped her a few times and she fired right up. So I drove her about a half an hour plus. Labor day I will be out their again. Thanks Team Camaro.

you still might have issues --if so pull it and recondition it-if its low on power and idle quality, the power valve is stuck also
