I'm having a problem with my aftermarket tac. The thing is all over the place. Usually reading low when it comes back for a second then low sometimes not at all. I purchased another tac and rewired everything only to have the same problems.
I'm running a pertonix flamethrower dist. and a flamethrower II coil. I have a 12v wire from the ignition on the fuse block run to the + on the coil. The red wire of the distis also hooked to the + of the coil. The green wire from the tac is on the - side of the coil. The black wire from the dist. is also wired to the - side of the coil. The tac has 2 other wires a red one which is hooked to the + side of the battery and a black wire which is hooked to the - side of the battery.
I've triple checked all my connections. Voltage is between 12.8 and 13.6 volts at the coil and at the power supply. I added a ground from the dist. mount to the firewall and swapped the the wires on the +- of the coil ( summit racing tech told me to try) which also did not help. I also replaced the coil with a spare I had with no luck. I just cannot find a problem. I asked summit if I needed some sort of filter and they said not with this setup.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a loss.
