Will a bigger amp alternator (100-140) put more stress on factory wiring or should I go with (63-78 ) amp ??? my car will be stock, no extra big draws !!! Was looking at a 10si but not sure if I should go with the 12si??? The wiring will be new for the lights and engine up front , but fuse block and the rest will be old wiring!!!

Only the wiring feeding the battery may see a possible increase. Just because the alternator can put out 100 amps does not mean the battery can take it in charge mode.
Other wiring will not see an increase in draw, it will be limited to the loads attached - unless you start attaching larger loads. |

A 10si would be more than plenty. At Autozone they no longer carry a separate part number for a 10si. They are all 12si. You can get one for under $50 with a lifetime warranty and 78 amps. That easily powers mine with an electric fan and fuel pump.

I settled on the 78A 12SI after a few unsuccessful experiences with the CS130.
The 12SI is bulletproof and an easier conversion. I did double the large red charging wire going from the junction by the battery to the horn bus, but that's all. No issues, just better power and brighter headlights. |

the part number at Autozone is DL7127M. Note that it takes a metric bolt for the tensioner but i believe it is included. You have to make a slight modification to the support bracket that bolts to the back. All you do is drill a new hole in the bracket and you'll need some washers to fill in the gap. You will see what I mean when you get it.
I upgraded to 8 AWG from the alternator to the buss bar and modified the factory 10 AWG that went from the alt to the buss bar to actually run from the buss bar to the junction block. It is just shortening it a little and adding a loop end.

You can reclock a 12SI easily, so it doesn't matter what you get, just reclock it yourself (4 bolts).
If you are ordering your wiring, tell them you need a VR delete wiring harness for a 12SI and pick a side (driver's or passenger, SWP or LWP respectively). |

The part number I gave will put it clocked like the factory one.
