I see some SS 69s with cowl hoods. They are mostly RSSS cars. I thought only z28s came with cowls and ss came with two louvers. Is it that RSSS came cowl?

SS could get cowl hood. It was just another option. ZL-2 RS had nothing to do with it.

Yep, the ZL2 option was only offered (from factory) on SS or Z/28 cars.

RS had nothing to do with it... Only Z11's and Z10's came factory with the ZL2 hood. I don't think the ZL2 hood was available on SS or Z/28 before sometime in Dec '68. The stock SS hood had twin incerts and the stock Z/28 hood was flat. Then in Dec you could order either SS or Z/28 with the ZL2 hood for an additional $75
