Lightbulb Who has the best deal on a complete crate 502 Chevy Big Block Engine?

I am going to do a 502 big block convertion to my 67'rs.

I have seen complete engines from $8k to $15k !!!

I really like the 502hp ram jet for the reliability of the fuel injection ... but someone has a 600hp carb'd version for around the same price ( I would love the lope of the more aggressive cam ).

Cheapest I have found the RAM JET is $10,500 shipped.

Let me know some places to check out ... thanks ---

CrazyDavey's 509 ended up being 764HP. It is a GMZZ502 based plant with AFR 305 heads massaged and one of my hyd roller cams. Engine is 11.3 to 1 The cam is hyd roller in the mid 240 range at .050. A combo Dart block based and pulled back to around 10.5 to one can be a 700HP street cruiser all day long.

1.5hp /cubes doesnt seem to be a problem when you custom cam guys get involved, even with duration in the 240 range which is very streetable

My $800 Super Budget 454 of a few years ago out-powered the 454HO that was $5100 in 2009 money. Good parts in that HO, just a bad combination....pitfall of GMPP crate engines. Let me recommend two engine builders. You'll get way more bang for your buck than a GM crate. They will build for your exact application.

1. Mark Jones, aka Vortecpro out of Colo Spgs, Co
VORTECPRO@GMAIL.COM 719 650 1609

or

2. Mike Lewis, aka Wolfplace, Lewis Racing Engines from Northern California

see this build for my buddy Mike Foster

aint that the truth
you either get no comp. or no cam, or rect ports on a mild motor
just a bunch of mismatched parts that make maybe 1hp per cube... sad
