Default 69 front bumper installation

Hi guys,
Putting my front bumper back on the 69 RS. Am a bit in the dark as to what all is needed. I have two brackets for each side, two of them go out by the bumper ends, and the other two are more inboard. Is there a center bracket on a 69? If so, how doew it attach, don't see the holes. Also are there rubber bumpers for the 69? I don't seem to have them, or do the front bumpers just bolt up solid to the brackets. Help and pics GREATlLY appreciated. I went through a bunch of threads, but never really found out everything.
Thanks guys,
RJ

There is an endura (urethane?) optional bumper for a 69 - not sure if that's what you meant.

No center bracket - just the 4 you mentioned.

I start with the outers - the bolts are adjustable. Get them close but don't crank em tight (bracket to bumper) - just snug.

I put a floor jack with a 2x4 lengthwise under the flat part in the middle and carefully jack it up to where I want it. Tighten the two inners then the 2 outers. Probably other ways to do it - a helper is nice to keep from butchering the paint. Consider masking tape at likely rub points.

Not an enduro.
NPD shows a 69 bumper to valence bracket, but I don't see any holes for that.
Also, once you put in the end brackets and bolt it tight, There doesn't seem to be alot of movement available. My bumper sits lower on the right end than on the left. Not sure where to proceed in making it level.

The outer brackets have adjustment in the bolt that attaches the bumper to the bracket.. Big hole in the bracket. Just don't crank that bolt tight until you're ready. The inners as you know are two brackets that ultimately attach the bumper to the subframe, so a lot of adjustment there.

can you post a link to the NPD bracket? I've owned a 69 since I was about 17 and have never seen this 5th bracket that you speak of!

Al,
Unless I'm reading this wrong, page 151 of current NPD catalog shows:
1969
Bracket & cushion Center bumper to valence
C-7869-11B
$9.95

Also, do I need the rubber cushion for the outside bumper brackets?

Thanks
RJ

Well I looked it up and there it is. I have no idea what that is. Possibly a typo. My Rick's catalog shows that same bracket but lists it for a 68 with which I'm unfamiliar.

I saw that too in the Rick's book this morning, must be a mistake.

Again, does your 69 have rubber bushings for the end clamps?
Thanks

Only 68's have a center bracket with a rubber bumper.
