I just installed the SUM-CS638 (328 lbs./in) coil springs from Summit...These springs definitely put my car back to factory height...Ive got Coker Readline tires (G70 x 15, 27.5 in tall) and they would rub while turning and the new springs eliminated that problem...My old springs were sagging so bad that any spring would have been an improvement...The Moog 6312 are 337 lbs./in...

Mike thanks for the reply. I was afraid to go with the 638. I have read many complaints with BB's that the car sat too low!! I'm finding out that spring info is sketchy. GM charts, Moog charts etc... Called Moog and they told me the 6312 was 344 lbs. Everything I read, (and it has been a lot) stated the 6312 was 337 as you pointed out. I ordered the 6312's. I give up.

I wish you luck...I didn't do any research on springs before I purchased the 638's but they seem to work just fine...

I am looking for 68 BB springs, the new engine has aluminum heads, intake, waterpump and headers. Tires are 245/60-14 I'm thinking with the lite parts #6312 will be too heavy. Any suggestion what to use in this driver

6312 is rated at 344 lbs. NOT 337 as everywhere you read. I called Moog and got it straight from the horses mouth. The load is 1800 lbs. BB springs are rated at 327 (stock) which is soft. GM offered front coils with 345 lbs rating. # 638 is stock for a BB. The springs I removed from my ss396 were "HQ" and rated at 345 lbs. Height was perfect for me. This is why I went with the 6312, the ratings are very close.
