Full rollers will not work under stock valve covers...you may be able to pick up a set of roller tipped rockers, though.

When I bought my car,(350ci) it came with full roller rockers and Z-28 covers BUT there was a 3/4" alum spacer under the valve covers.

I have a set of roller tipped Comp Cams rockers under mine with poly locks and they fit no problems. I've heard more than one person say the Harland Sharps fit as well like Jay mentioned.

They will work with thicker valve cover gaskets, sometime you have to squeeze the baffles with a pair of pliers slightly, you can also machine down the posi lock slightly where it touches the fulcrum. Check how much room there is between the body and the lower portion of the built in hex nut on the posi lock, and keep around .080-.100 clearance. Some posi locks are extremly tall with more than .200-.250 in this area to the top of the rocker body. Machining the bottom of the lock off helps with the valve cover touching the lock and not allowing the cover to seat against the head.

Yes, I do have baffles in mine. The Comp Cams roller tip rockers look pretty much like a regular rocker but they have the roller tip on them.

Under the Z-28 valve covers, I'm running these:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-1804-16/ I did have to run a 5/16" thick gasket (I can supply the part number if needed). And as stated above, I had to slightly collapse the baffles using a C-Clamp (no big deal). I'm running AFR heads (older castings) and they may or may not have elevated valve cover rails. There's some trial and error here depending on your combo. Is the engine on a stand or in the car? |

These are the ones I am using http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-1411-16/ on top of a set of Dart Iron Eagle heads.

I have the probe shaft rockers and they absolutely dont fit. We are slotting the holes, machined the lip off the seal surface, added .313" gaskets and probably at the end of the day making an aluminum spacer with some offset upward towards the intake.
All the oiling boss's where cut and baffle reworked to clear. Going through the pain because I think they are the only valve cover (looks) to run on a street car. |

Crane makes low profile roller rockers that come with low profile poly locks to clear stock valve covers- i know they sell them with the self guiding tip for late model heads without guideplates, but i think they sell them without the built in guides, too.. they also sell them thru GMPP as part of the HOT cam kit with a 1.6 ratio.

However mine I believe were the newer style with the drippers, I cut them short to clear the posi locks.
