Default ZZ383... Manifolds or Headers?

Getting ready to put my ZZ383 in my 4-speed 69 and I need to make a decision on exhaust. Should I run a set of Doug's D368's (or other brand) or manifolds? I know people have good luck with Doug's, but they interfere with reverse lockout. What would be a good manifold that would fit, or do you recommend something else?

I have a set of hooker super comps and they work great. I would go with headers over regular manifolds from a hp and sound standpoint

Are they on a ZZ383? If so, what part number are you running?

Yes they are on a 383. I don't recall the part# as I put them on about 4 years ago. I ordered them from jet hot.

FYI,Hooker super competition headers WILL allow you to retain the reverse lockout linkage on your car.If that is your only determining factor,I would go with the headers over the manifolds.

Using the D 368 from Dougs, might leave the bubble wrap on them until you get them up into the engine bay. Needs lots of floor space, they seem to go in , straight up on the left side. Right is no problem

You may need to use the shorty oil filter , equilivent to AC PF 454. Little tight going in and out.
