Is it something like P9Hxx ?
If so, P is Muncie, 9 is 1969, H is the month of assembly - June. The numbers after that are the day of the month. Partial VIN would be something like 19N566192

9H or 19H ?
The only vehicle assembly plant I know of that used H is Buick City in Flint, MI. What is the whole code?

Post all of the coded information stamped and I will try to figure it out.
There should be something before the 9H and after.

Over the years, the Muncie 4 speed manual transmission was use by General Motors in the following cars:
Buick: Special Special Deluxe GS Lesabre Wildcat Electra Century Centurion Skylark Regal Chevrolet: Belair Biscane Camaro Chevelle El Camino Impala Malibu Corvette Nova/Chevy II GMC: Caballero Spirit Oldsmobile: Cutlass Jetstar Cruiser 88 Delmont Delta Dynamic F88 Omega Starfire Vista 442 Pontiac: Catalina Firebird Trans AM Grand Prix LeMans GTO Tempest In this case, 9H indicates a 1969 Buick LeSabre assembled at the Buick City (Flint), Michigan plant. I have never seen a Buick Lesabre with a Muncie, but if Ed says so, I believe him.
A 1969 Buick GS could have had a Muncie. To my knowledge, a 1969 Buick partial VIN on a Muncie would be something like 49Hxxxxxx. The 4 being for Buick.

I've seen the division # missing from partial VIN's before. Not common, but some plants didn't.

I've never heard of a LeSabre with a Muncie either. I got that information from a web site that sells Muncie parts, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.
I looked at the 1969 BUICK SALES BROCHURE and the LeSabre came with either a 3 speed manual transmission (standard) or the 2 speed or 3 speed automatic (optional). It didn't say anything about a 4 speed. Also, according to WIKIPEDIA, the Buick City plant built the LeSabre and the Bonneville, so going by this, and the guy that sells Muncie parts, the only car it could have come on is the LeSabre, unless the Wikipedia site is wrong or incomplete, which is probably the case. (Jeez, that would be a suprise!!) Edit: A quick ebay search shows that the Buick Skylark was also built at Buick City, so now we know the Wikipedia list is incomplete. Also, the sales brochure above shows the only car available with a 4 speed was the GS, so now we know the web site that sells Muncie parts is also wrong! I would imagine the car it originially came out of was a GS assembled at the Buick City plant. Ed
