Hi. My name is Ben, and I am new to this site. I have a question regarding my 67 Convertible Camaro. My Cowl Tag has a 09C build date. I am trying to find out if the engine is original to the car. The block code reads: TO906MM. The dates seem to coincide.... Can someone tell me if this is an original tonawanda engine, or a replacement? If so, how can we tell? Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the site Ben. I'm pretty new here too but learning a lot from the experts here. I also have a 67 with a TxxxxMM engine. MM is the L30 engine (327 with 275 hp) with automatic transmission and no smog pump. Since there is no partial VIN on the engine pad I've had to use other info to help convince me that I have a "born with" engine. Lots of reading here and on the Camaro Research Group site helped a lot.

Welcome Ben, for 67, generally only SS and Z/28 had partial VINs stamped on the block, so all you can do is check date codes and casting numbers to see if they line up with the cars build date. Sounds like you have the original L30
Also, if you feel like it, pop the valve covers off to check the heads. They're really the heart and soul of the L30.

Welcome, Ben.
Yes, research the camaros.org site to answer most of your questions. Warning, you'll be asked for pictures. Members here like them. Replacement engines from the dealer under warranty would have a 'CE' stamp. And I prefer Guernsey milk over Holstein, more cream, makes better homemade ice cream.
