I have an '84 Z-28 that I bought about five months ago. I just replaced the L69 with a new Marshall Magnum motor and it runs great. But I do have a problem with the Check Enginge Light. It will turn on after I decelerate from 38 mph or above, then it will turn off in about 7 or 8 seconds. Anyone know what the problem night be here?

You have to check trouble codes on this car to find out whats wrong you ground the test conector on the drivers side under the dash and the trouble light will blink

Check your trouble codes, it could be something as simple as a vacuum line off or leaking.

I bought an 84 z and have a similiar problem, my check engine light stays on. When I ground out the computer it doesn't blink or give mew any trouble codes. I also tried to reset it by disconnecting at the batterie. It suppsebly emmits more than 2000 hydrocarbons on smog test.

get someone to hook up a scan tool to your car and get the codes and post them here and then we can help you.
