I have done a search on the site, and I have an assembly manual but it does not have everything in it. I am looking to get a book on every part that my car has or had on every level. I want an exploded veiw that way I will know what I am missing as far as screws parts etc... I have heard of the fisher book and the maintenance books. I guess what I am asking is there a book out there I can get that has everything or will I need to get the other two??? My car needs EVERYTHING on the interior. I am wanting this so I dont leave out anything I will need as far as parts go. Plus the names of the parts. This is my frist time around on this 68 and I want to do it right. Thanks for any help

I have the factory assembly manual. I did not see a Fisher manual or the service manual for a 68 in that thread.

Sorry, you're right. I didn't realize that the others were there for '67 but not '68.

I have the 1946-1972 chassis and body parts manual as a pdf but I don't remember where I got it. I just did a google search for those key words including pdf and found even more. The parts manual has blown up pics of many assemblies.

Thanks for the list Chick. I was wanting a book or PDF mainly for reference and not putting something in first and then have to turn right around and take it back off. Mainly the interior, and A/C heater stuff. That and for a parts guide to buy from when I need something. I will have my hands full with the wiring as its going in new as well.
Thanks Mike, I will try that and see what I can find. And thanks again for the replys guys every little bit is gonna help. |

I would follow this route, unless another member has another idea:
Install electrical harness, courtesy lights, etc., then build dash from the firewall toward the inside, Install headliner and visors, Install weatherstriping, regulators and glass, doors included, Install side panels, handles, etc., Install carpet, kick panels, Install seats last.

I would also hold off on installing the windshield and rear glass until the headliner rear deck speakers (if used) and deck cover are installed. Just makes life easier especially the headliner install

From a factory, GM point of view these cars were put together to be forgotten. Don't try too hard for history w/o evidence.VCD

How true. And in some places they forgot to put them together.

I found what I think will give me the info on hardware parts etc... And I am gonna get the Fisher manual as well from what I hear it has alot of exploded veiws of interior parts and door parts window hardware etc... Just food for thought, I am not trying to put it back to date code specs. I got this car without eveything and with no way of knowing or seeing whats missing. And it being my first Camaro just makes it that much more difficult. Thanks Again for all the info

If you find a part and don't know what it is and where it goes, post a picture of it and ask.
